Play It Forward is a ten-piece brass group dedicated to performing a wide variety of music for mid-week charity fundraising events across the North West — completely free of charge.
Inspired by the “pay it forward” philosophy, our aim is simple: use our time, talent, and love of music to make a positive difference to others. Every player in the group gives their services willingly, turning up to support charities, community groups, and good causes wherever we’re needed.
Made up of Working, semi-retired and retired professionals from all walks of life, we rehearse once a month — where the atmosphere is always the same: laughs, banter, a bit of chaos, and eventually… some rather cracking music. Many members have said it’s one of the easiest and most enjoyable groups to turn up to, because the standard is high and the pressure is low.
To date, Play It Forward has helped raise over £45,000 for charities across the region.
We’re proud of the music we make, the friendships we’ve built, and the difference we’ve been able to support — one performance at a time.
Based on the popular Pay It Forward concept of performing an act of kindness for others without asking for anything in return, Play It Forward is a group of musicians from all walks of life, giving their time to play music and raise funds in order to make a positive difference to other people's lives.
